Engraving Design Policy

At Norman Wood Turning, we are proud to offer custom engraving to make your pen truly personal. While we welcome creativity and individual expression, we maintain standards to ensure that all engraved designs reflect the values of respect, integrity, and inclusivity. To that end, we kindly ask that all engraving submissions follow the guidelines outlined below.

What We Don’t Allow

As a private business, we reserve the right to decline any engraving request that contains or references:

* Profanity or obscene language
* Hate speech, discriminatory remarks, or offensive slurs
* Sexually explicit or suggestive content
* Violent or threatening imagery or phrases
* Trademarked or copyrighted content (unless you own or have written permission to use it)
* Satanic, occult, or demonic symbols or wording
* Political messages, slogans, or endorsements

Religious Designs

Religious engravings are welcome, as long as they align with our general standards above. We ask that they be shared with a spirit of positivity and respect for others.

What Happens if a Design Isn’t Allowed

If a submitted design doesn’t meet our policy, we’ll let you know and invite you to send a different one. We’ll never proceed with engraving without your approval.

If we can’t reach a mutual agreement on an appropriate design, the engraving portion of your order will be refunded, and your pen will still be completed and shipped — just without engraving. This way, your order isn't delayed, and you’re never charged for something you don’t receive.

File Types We Accept

We currently accept most standard image formats, including but not limited to:

* JPG, JPEG, PNG, BMP
* Vector and bitmap formats like SVG
